Holiday/Vacation Preparation

This week has been a bit manic and it has taken me a little while to figure out why. We go away tomorrow for a week and while some might say this is enough to make my week manic, it just isn't the case. The actual reason is that I have children!! I normally do all the packing and planning while they are still at school in July and we go away the first week after they break up for the summer. This year we are going away in the middle of August. This means I have had to contend with my work, Phil's work, getting ready for the holiday and keeping the 2 troublemakers occupied and out of trouble! If you saw my post on the socials last night, you will understand that yesterday was particularly taxing with the result being me with veet on my legs at 11pm!

But today is a new day and I feel rather good. It's helped that they children are out with their Aunt and Uncle all day, I must admit! So I have been out to work this morning and done my exercise with the old 'uns and then I popped to Merry Hill shopping centre. I have sneakily had my lobes pierced for a second time and I'm going to see how long it takes anyone to notice!! I have also had just a quick meander around with no children in tow and bought the car sweets and arrow words book for holiday. The cases are all packed and so we are left with needing to put it all in the car and pack up the things we use daily in the morning.

How do you go about preparing for a holiday? I have some friends who literately throw a weeks worth of clothes in a bag and off they go and the whole idea of that brings me out in hives!! I am super organised and Phil eventually tells me that not everything has to be on a list. But we all know that everything does have to be on a list otherwise it ain't going away with us! I have got our lists here for you to use if you so wish and the spaces in white are for you to fill in. These are mainly for a holiday in the UK and so will need to be adapted to suit you if you are going on a plane or somewhere with restricted luggage! I enjoy throwing all the shoes in a binbag and into the boot of the car at the last minute!

In the run up to the holiday, I have a few things I always do. These are in the lists found in the link below and they gen really involve getting the house in order and making sure everything is ready to go and will be nice when you get home.

Let me know the ways you get ready for holiday and maybe we can inspire each other in new ways :)
